Are you looking for a long-term solution for Candida, thrush or yeast infections that keep reoccurring no matter what treatment you try? Would you prefer to use natural remedies to help address the problem and get rid of it for good?
Homeopathy can help in two ways:
1. In the short term by using homeopathic remedies to alleviate uncomfortable symptoms.
2. In the longer term by using homeopathic remedies to rebalance the body and boost the immune system to prevent re-occurrence.
Eleana’s first homeopathic consultation was to seek help for a candida and yeast infection that she’d been battling for 3 months. She had a 2-year history of thrush and her treatments had included all sorts of antifungal creams, restrictive diets, detoxes and antibiotics all to no avail. This bout of candida was not improving no matter what she tried.
After a gentle homeopathic detox (no diets involved) and our follow up 4 weeks later, Elena reported huge improvements in her symptoms:
“I took my remedy as prescribed and I thought it’s not possible, the uncomfortable symptoms of itching, swelling and discharge that I’ve had for 3 months were nearly all gone after just 5 days.
My emotions are stable now and I’m much less tired. It’s such a good feeling and I am now able to eat many of the foods I had to give up without a problem. I’m so happy! There is such a huge difference in my symptoms and how I feel now”. Elena, Dublin 7
It’s always great to hear such positive changes happening so quickly after many months of suffering. While we still have some work to do to break the cycle of reoccurrence in this case, Elena’s healing is most definitely off to a great start.
Another client Roisin, explains her journey with resolving candida with homeopathy.
“I started working with Eileen initially to help resolve or reduce the symptoms of persistent thrush/candida.
Within a few weeks, the symptoms of thrush started to reduce and within a few months, I found myself completely free of symptoms for the first time in over 18 months!
I immediately found Eileen to be supportive, understanding and highly knowledgeable about my symptoms but equally, inquisitive about other physical, emotional and environmental factors that may be linked. In the first session, she encouraged me to share my health history and symptoms beyond thrush that we could work on – including my emotional eating, lethargy, stress and anxiety, period pain and headaches. I had been to see multiple doctors and specialists and never received any answers.
When I first met with Eileen, I finally found someone who was willing to listen, extremely thorough and determined to understand the full picture.
Since then, we have work on some underlying issues and she continues to be a wonderful and trusted support.
I am less anxious, more energetic and importantly, finally free of the debilitating symptoms of thrush/candida.
More importantly, I continue to work with her for both acute and ongoing issues. I would highly recommend Eileen and her services!” Roisin, Dublin 15
The term Candida is often used interchangeably with thrush which can be an oral thrush or genital fungal infection.
Candida is a common name used for an overgrowth of a yeast called Candida Albicans. This yeast lives naturally in the digestive tract and prefers moist conditions found in the intestines and mucous membranes of the body such as the mouth, throat, vagina tract and rectum. With a healthy immune system, the body can keep the natural balance of good bacteria and fungus in check. When the natural equilibrium becomes altered this can create a favourable climate for Candida to multiply and flourish.
It can affect newborn babies and symptoms include white patches in the mouth, gums and palate like a cottage cheese. The tissue underneath the patches may be raw and sore and babies may find it difficult to feed or keep detaching from the breast or bottle. There may also be an associated nappy rash, more dribbling than usual and poor weight gain.
For many, particularly women repeated attacks of Candida infections or vaginal thrush can be a huge burden and seriously impact the quality of life. Common symptoms include vaginal itching, burning, redness and irritation, swelling of the entrance of vaginal and vulva and vaginal discharge which is white or yellowish.
With Candida overgrowth, the alteration in the balance of digestive flora can also lead to a diverse range of other symptoms such as:
Common causes of Candida infections include
Many people have tried a restrictive anti-candida diet but as soon as they return to “normal eating” the candida symptoms reappear.
Conventional treatment focuses on destroying the candida, but it has a tendency to reoccur.
Homeopathy focuses on boosting the immune system naturally and rebalancing the natural equilibrium so that the body can naturally keep candida growth under control. By boosting the body’s natural innate healing ability and strengthening the digestive system, the normal status quo can return.
In homeopathy the process of selecting a remedy is specific to a person’s individual needs. There is “no one pill” for thrush and 10 people presenting with thrush may all receive a different homeopathic remedy.
I have included a few remedies to help explain the differences.
This remedy may be apparent when symptoms are ever-changing. The yeast infection discharge may be creamy white or yellow-green, thick, bland and worse when lying down or in the heat. Emotionally the person feels tearful, moody and feels better for affection.
Common indications include a white or yellow discharge that is like cottage cheese, egg white, offensive smelling with dryness and itching. It is worse before and between periods and during pregnancy. The person may feel sluggish, worn out, indifferent and irritable and they feel better for vigorous exercise.
This is a remedy often used for oral thrush of the mouth and tongue in newborn babies and children. The mouth bleeds easily, feels hot and dry and there may be an excess of saliva. The yeast infection is worse for breastfeeding and a nursing infant will cry with pain whilst feeding.
As part of the homeopathic treatment plan, a number of support remedies can be used to help the healing process. These include supports for sugar addiction whether for chocolate or sweets, overwhelming cravings, huge appetites, overconsumption of food as well as organ support remedies to help reduce toxicity.
Some practical measures include taking a good probiotic, eating a healthy balanced diet, reducing consumption of food containing yeasts and moulds and eating regular meals with high protein content to help stabilise blood sugars and reduce sugar cravings.
